RUN 7.3 - Drills Week 3
Run
•
14m
The week 3 drills continue to develop the connection between the hip and foot strike, ensuring running occurs with the leg action balanced in front and behind the centre of mass with the image of a unicycle pedal stroke. Focus is also given to reducing and lightening the ground contact force in preference to a long stride with an extended contact time and a drive off the foot. This short and light technique maximises the use of elastic recoil of leg tissues in forward propulsion rather than muscle strength.
BEFORE STARTING: Complete the week two drills for 2-3 weeks before tackling the week 3 drills.
EQUIPMENT: None
DURATION: 15 mins
SCHEDULE: Once per week
TIPS: Complete the dynamic warm up before starting these drills
