SkiFit is your ultimate pre-ski training programme

SkiFit is an exercise programme aimed at fitness, technique and injury avoidance which together improves your skiing or boarding experience.

SkiFit was developed in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc to meet the needs of the recreational and professional skiers visiting and based in this world famous ski town. The programme designed by World Class physiotherapist Neil Maclean-Martin is based on clinical evidence and his extensive experience working with all levels of skier and boarder from recreational to Olympic athletes.

The SkiFit programme has four phases which normally take two weeks each, allow a minimum of eight weeks on the programme before you start skiing. With two to three workouts a week and test exercises to show you when to advance you will see huge gains even if you don’t progress to the final phase (which is only for the truly gnarly). Indeed for many it will be more beneficial to aim to complete up to phase two or three still doing eight weeks but spending additional weeks at each level.

The SkiFit programme has been developed to require little or no specialist equipment. The items you will need are:

2 towels
5 litre water bottle partially filled with water
2 litre water bottle partially filled with water
Ski pole
Yoga/Exercise mat (or large towel)
Gym/Exercise ball or chair

Before starting: Make sure you are reasonably fit and do not have any current injuries. We recommend you consult your Doctor before you start any exercise programme.
